Terms and Conditions of Stay
Last updated: January 2026
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all reservations, stays, and use of the King George Hotel (the “Hotel,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By making a reservation, checking in, or staying at the Hotel, you (“Guest”) agree to be bound by these Terms.
-
Guests must be at least nineteen (19) years of age to make a reservation or check in. Minors may not stay at the Hotel unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The Hotel reserves the right to request valid government-issued identification at check-in. Misrepresentation of age or identity constitutes a breach of these Terms and may result in cancellation or eviction without refund.
-
All reservations require a valid credit card. The Hotel does not accept cash deposits.
By providing a credit card, the Guest authorizes the Hotel to pre-authorize the card prior to arrival and to charge the card on file for room charges, applicable taxes, incidentals, damages to the room or Hotel property, excessive cleaning or remediation costs including smoke or odours, lost or unreturned keys or access devices, unauthorized guests, and any other charges incurred in connection with the Guest’s stay. Charges may be processed after checkout where reasonably necessary.
-
Cancellations made 7 days or more prior to arrival will receive a full refund.
Cancellations made 2–7 days prior to arrival are subject to a 50% charge.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of arrival are non-refundable.
In the event the hotel is unable to operate due to a force majeure event, guests will be offered the choice of a full refund or the option to reschedule their stay, subject to availability.
The Hotel reserves the right to cancel a reservation for non-payment, invalid payment method, or breach of these Terms.
-
While the Hotel endeavours to provide all advertised services and amenities, availability is not guaranteed. Services or amenities may be unavailable, interrupted, modified, or withdrawn due to maintenance, safety concerns, operational requirements, or circumstances beyond the Hotel’s reasonable control. No reduction, refund, or compensation shall be owed where services or amenities are unavailable, except as required by applicable law.
-
The Hotel reserves the right to enter guest rooms for maintenance, inspection, safety, or emergency purposes. Where reasonably necessary, the Hotel may assign an alternative room or modify accommodations of comparable value without liability.
-
Guests agree to comply with all posted House Rules, safety signage, and staff instructions. House Rules are incorporated by reference and form part of these Terms. The Hotel reserves the right to refuse service, cancel a reservation, or evict a Guest without refund where, in the Hotel’s reasonable judgment, a Guest engages in unsafe, disruptive, abusive, or unlawful behaviour, damages property, causes excessive disturbance, or violates these Terms or House Rules.
-
Alcohol service and consumption are governed by the British Columbia Liquor Control and Licensing Act and applicable regulations. The Hotel and its partners reserve the right to refuse alcohol service at any time. Guests remain solely responsible for their behaviour and compliance with applicable laws. Illegal substances are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate eviction without refund and notification of authorities where appropriate.
-
On-site parking is provided on a first-come, first-served basis for Hotel patrons only. Parking availability is not guaranteed. While the parking area is monitored by security cameras, vehicles and their contents are parked entirely at the Guest’s own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Hotel assumes no responsibility or liability for loss, theft, damage, or injury involving vehicles or personal property in the parking area.
-
The Hotel may offer areas for bicycle, ski, or equipment storage. While reasonable steps may be taken to enhance security, all stored property remains the sole responsibility of the Guest. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Hotel disclaims all liability for loss, theft, damage, or deterioration of stored property.
-
Use of the rooftop patio and other amenities is at the Guest’s own risk. The Hotel reserves the right to close or restrict access to amenities at any time due to safety concerns, weather, security incidents, or operational needs. Guests acknowledge and assume all risks associated with use, including slips, falls, weather exposure, and interactions with other guests.
-
Guests are responsible for complying with all posted safety signage, House Rules, and staff instructions. Failure to comply may result in restricted access, refusal of service, or eviction without refund. The Hotel is not responsible for injuries arising from a Guest’s failure to follow safety instructions or exercise reasonable care.
-
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Hotel shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to a Guest’s stay, reservation, or use of the Hotel. The Hotel’s total liability, if any, shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Guest for the stay giving rise to the claim.
-
Guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Hotel, its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from the Guest’s conduct, violation of these Terms, or misuse of Hotel property.
-
The Hotel shall not be liable for failure or delay in performance due to events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, government orders, labour disruptions, or utility failures.
-
The Hotel collects and processes personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference and available on the Hotel’s website.
-
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada. Any dispute shall be brought exclusively in the courts of British Columbia.
-
Guests agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally with the Hotel before commencing legal proceedings. Nothing in this section limits the Hotel’s right to seek injunctive or other relief where appropriate.
-
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
-
These Terms, together with incorporated House Rules and the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between the Guest and the Hotel and supersede all prior communications or understandings.
-
Failure by the Hotel to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
-
The headings used in these Terms are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation. Words importing the singular include the plural and vice versa. Ambiguities shall not be interpreted against the Hotel by reason of authorship or drafting.
-
The Hotel may assign these Terms without notice. Guests may not assign or transfer their rights or obligations without prior written consent.
